Celcom coverage disrupted in the Klang Valley

To the manager in charge,

My name is Gadiy and I'm proud to be a mobile phone owner to make calls. I've been making calls all my life. As you know, my only option to make calls now are to cross my fingers and hope that celcom will provide me the coverage that I need. I'm stranded here with no other way of making calls because Celcom has to screw up the line. Why am I paying your bills for this kind of service? I'm not out of town, neither am I out of the country. I'm sitting right here at Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya, 1.5km away from your Menara Celcom and I need to make important calls with regards to my career=money=survivability=life. Nevermind that you can bar my phone from making calls, at least I still can receive important calls. But I can't make any calls now or receive calls because you are having a system maintainence / breakdown / insufficient man power / always out for meeting / never pay electricity bill / excuses / excuses / excuses. This is the 3rd time this half year a major problem like this is happening.

I was a Maxis user before this and the only reason I switched because Celcom provide better coverage. It's true and I can agree with you. But what's the point of better coverage when there is NO COVERAGE AT ALL?
You can get your Customer Relations to write a good Press Release explaining the situation, if not you can just fire them because they are not doing their job. You can start firing the people who caused the problem in the first place.

I apologize for the harshness, but it's the truth. I know you'll be upset, and wondering why someone who doesn't have a life write stupid things about the Number 2 telco company in Malaysia? The thing is, because of Celcom's insufficiency, it's majorly affecting other people's life elsewhere. What if there is a girl who is about the get raped by an intruder but she cannot call her dad for help because there is no coverage? or call the police? or call somebody? She can't do it because celcom's coverage is disconnected. If there is a system upgrade or maintainence, you could at least have sent us a sms saying so. If it's expensive, then use the sms celcom send for spamming purposes to send us an important message. It's no funny deal that Celcom likes to disconnect people from making or receiving calls.
I hope you understand the situation and I most definitely hope to hear from someone from your side soon.

Just to let you know on our situation, you can twitter up #celcom
I'm quite sure someone will only read this tomorrow morning or afternoon, then you will have to search for this timeline. The time's 9.35pm Thursday 12 Nov 2009.

You can write back or call me at 012-282****.

Best Regards,
Gadiy Lim

I Don’t Want to Rest in Pieces like Final Destination

I am by nature a thrill seeker. My girlfriend always says that one day my daredevil streak will get me into trouble. But hey, that's the way I am. As long as I pay the bills and stay out of any real danger, I know I'm fine. And I know that deep down she wouldn't love me any other way since it is that same nature that keeps our life together unpredictable and exciting :)

So it isn't surprising that the camera often catches me horrified.

I travel the world seeking adventure.

I hold gigantic prickly durians for the fun of it.

And I stick my head out of the car at amazing speeds in the glow of the sunset, just because I can.

Because you never know when you're gonna meet your final destination, right?

I'm back!!!

Langkawi was awesome!

More on that, after my recovery period and I need to collect photos from the other cameras.

The same old excuses, "I've been too busy and there's no time to blog..."

I realized that for the period that I was virtually dead in writing, blogger has change quite a bit since my last post; the layout to compose seems kinda nice in a way. You see... The picture is on the left!! :D

So in the ending months of my 20 years of living, there were a couple of things that happened to me. I found a job that could feed me as I hardly get allowance from my parents these days. No, I don't sell my butt... Neither am I the peddler that you bought your Transformers 2: ROTF from, I work for Salmat which is a big client for Jetstar Airways.

Plus, I have quite a respectable social life and a girl to take care of. So yeah.

Not that all about our lives is about work and money and work and money and work and money and work and money and work and money and work and money and work and money and work and money but it's also about taking time out, relax and just enjoy the people's company (:
(to those of you who may criticize me for leaving God out, boo you. God is the utmost big guy behind the picture )
taken by a Lumix Semi Pro, 1pm on a fine Sunday at the Subang Jaya Lake

I did picnics (:

I go Urbanscapes!!! (:
bought a couple of t-shirts there, met up with cool people, enjoyed the music, ambiance and people's company. I'm sure Hannah can testify to that (;

haha, LOL. Alfred Loh.

Had good times at church,

celebrated somebody's birthday,

met up with a good friend who is the word definition of Friendster (:
just joking, haha. he hates to be called that...

I even saw monkeys that terrorize drivers with their skills, lack of knowledge and protection.
darn rempits...
If you don't want to die, pakai lah protection (;
right fuzzy?

The Great Escapade

As I have said before, I have not been out of the country much. In fact, those of you who know me would know that I haven't been out of the country at all. Seriously. I'd give anything for a ticket out of this place to go and expand my horizons. There's so much to see, so much to do! But what's a KL boy to do?

Well, if I were to choose a way to fly with MAS, it would have to be the Grab-A-Deal package.

Quoting from the website:

"Grab-A-Deal is a new way for you to fly with Malaysia Airlines at a lot less. By signing up with Grab-A-Deal, you can enjoy exclusive bargains on various domestic and international destinations, offered every day."

In other words, that means a lot of flights to a lot of places for less money!

Hint: 2 tickets would make a great gift for my 21st. Hehe.

The Iphone fever

You know how you always felt that something was missing when you don't know what is it that is missing... I had this fever. More on that later.
I can swear that I've not lay hands on it before buying it, not even a video to see its capabilities. Not even knowing that you can do wonders with it. I was just wanting this gadget so badly. The fever began when I started dreaming about it, it also started my huge addiction to check out lowyat.net for the best prices on the iphone and ipod touch. Believe it or not, when you say two soul mates are destined to meet up some point of their lives, I kid you not, I had the same feeling for the ipod touch or even better, the iphone.
I purchased my second girlfriend (that's what my girlfriend calls it) with my girlfriend through a reliable seller through lowyat.net. Immediately, call me some crazy man or what, I felt this peace of mind inside of me. I had the ultimate gadget and I didn't have to go on talking about it as if I had one.
It was mind blasting. The wonders that you could do with this little thing.

Now, the review.

The ipod touch has such amazing features, having the weight of a phone and a body as thin as a pocket notebook, this baby can perform web browsing, gaming, PDA features, and the ipod all in one. Third party developers are creating apps for the iphone and ipod touch daily. On the main page it has your first preinstalled 17 main apps comprising of;
  • Calender - dates, events, birthdays. It's useful to keep you organized
  • Videos - video podcast, movies, tv series. Something I dig when i'm bored and just want to be entertained. I've downloaded Russell Peters' Red White Brown, doesn't grow old on me (:
  • Mail - to handle all your email accounts and view them offline. It's useful if your mails doesn't have html in it. Can't process any attachments but you can view jpeg pictures attached.

  • Clock - World clock, alarm, stopwatch, timer. The best thing to tell the time and set funny original alarm tones
  • Contacts - able to retrieve all your contacts from Ms Outlook. I don't really use this function as I have most of it on my handphone. It'll do good on the iphone (:
  • Youtube - play youtube videos (wifi connection needed) Frankly, i prefer watching them directly on Safari as it loads faster there, the Youtube app takes a little while to connect to the server.
  • Maps - to help you navigate through places (Google maps) and view them offline. This beats typical maps, if I'm lost, all i need is wifi to download from my location to the location I want to go and it'll give me the fastest way to get there.
  • Weather - from yahoo.com. I really don't know how reliable weather predictions are, but i guess it's just as good as the one you get from the News.
  • Photos - to view photos you upload or download from the web. It's cool if I want to show my friends photos of latest events, birthdays, etc. Completely replaced the tangible photo albums.
  • Stocks - Live results from Yahoo.com
  • Notes - create short notes with email option.
  • Itunes - connects you directly to itunes to download podcasts, songs.
  • Appstore - lets you download the latest application for the ipod touch.
  • Safari - The best thing that beats all other phones for web browsing capability. Allows you a  maximum of 8 tabs of webpages and you can view them as the entire webpage like how you do with computers.
  • Settings - to control all basic settings to have your ipod touch the way you want it to be.

The ipod touch comes with an accelerometer and a multi touch screen. You don't need an instruction to teach you how to navigate through the phone. It's personalized in a way where you use your first instinct that tells you how to move or use applications in the iphone/ipod touch. The accelerometer helps when you want different ways of viewing your ipod touch. Plus, it's the steering wheel in many racing games ;) Cool huh?
Note: for those of you who actually have the iphone/ipod touch, if you find your accelerometer way off grid, please sent it back to apple. If it's still covered by warranty, they'll give you a new one (; so you can make up for the scratches you did to the first one. And yes, it happened to me. I have a new one now :D

A lot of my friends always mistake me for having the iphone instead. I don't blame them, sometime I do refer to it as the iphone also. I mean, since it is as good as one.

I have hopes to get the iphone to my hands, hopefully I can save up and get it later in my years. By then, who knows? We could have the iphone nano (:

Knowing Apple, they always come up with uber cool crazy stuff that beats most gadgets.

The Community meet up in YOUTH'09 is not going to be any other meet ups because it's going to be the largest communities meet up at one place. Where would you find NGO's, forum, clubs/associations, a car club and a yoyo club in one place? The best part of it is, they're doing workshops, talks, games, freebies and there will be free flow of drinks. It's a cool fact that you can be part of something and everything else. Imagine how you always wanted to be that Leo or Interactor going around making friends, connections, building bridges or relationships at one event? I know I'm going to be there.
You know how you always have to split your brains when you have to be at two places at a time?
(I know, I hate that.) Like some of you who watched 27 dresses,
Jane Nichols (Katherine Heigl) had to be in two weddings at the same time swapping and changing her clothes in the taxi going back and forth between 2 weddings...
haha. stress no more cause YOUTH'09 is coming to town, where all the happenin clubs and communities are going to be!! (:

Merry Christmas Ya'll
